Merrick Pet Care, Inc. of Amarillo, TX is recalling all lots of its 10 oz “Beef Filet Squares” for Dogs and “Texas Hold’ems” pet treats because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recall comes after a sample of the product tested positive for Salmonella.
Early July 2010, Merrick recalled selected lots of its 10 oz Beef Filet Squares for Dogs and Texas Hold’Ems because they had the potential to contaminated with Salmonella. The affected lot was #10084TL7. Then in early August Merrick expanded this recall to include lot #10127. Today, Merrick once again expanded the recall to include all lots of it’s 10 oz Beef Filet Squares for Dogs and Texas Hold’Ems. The affected lots were sold in 10 oz plastic bags. The products were sold throughout the United States. Wholesale and retail companies have been notified to return their stock.
Consumers who have purchased 10 ounce packages of Beef Filet Squares for Dogs & Texas Hold’ems are urged to return the unused portion to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-664-7387 M-F 8:00 – 5:00 CDT.
